TAVO Total Health does not participate with any insurance providers. Patients pay in full at the time of service and, if seen by a physical therapist or occupational therapist, are given a statement to self-submit to their insurance provider. Statements for massage therapy services are provided by request only. Please note a massage therapist cannot diagnose a medical condition, whereas a physical or occupational therapist can. Therefore, most insurance providers will not cover massage therapy services, however some do so please be sure to check with your provider for a definitive answer.
We recommend you contact your insurance provider prior to your first visit and check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:
- What are my ‘out of network’ physical therapy and/or occupational therapy benefits?
- What is my deductible and has it been met?
- How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
- Is a referral/ prescription required from my primary care physician?
Please note: Maryland grants “Direct Access” to both physical therapists and occupational therapists’ services, meaning you do not need a physician’s referral to see either a physical or occupational therapist at TAVO Total Health. However, your insurance provider may require a prescription for physical or occupational therapy services in order to process your claim. Please ask your insurance provider if a prescription is necessary prior to your first visit at TAVO Total Health.
Please note the services provided at TAVO Total Health are not considered “covered services” under the Medicare program at this time, and as such, they are not reimbursable by Medicare. TAVO Total Health is not a Medicare provider or supplier, nor does it submit claims to Medicare on behalf of its patients. If you are a Medicare beneficiary and have questions about our Medicare status, please do not hesitate to contact our office staff. We are happy to answer any questions you may have to the best of our ability.
